Everything happens for a reason....!!!!

Definitely a well versed thought that eludes positiveness. But is it right to sit upright and say that everything and anything happens for a reason????

What reason can be attributed for the killings in the name of terrorism? The brutal gang rape of a tribal girl, right in front of the eyes of her husband!!!!The beating up of females in a pub, when their male counterparts watched it in resilience.

What greater good has all the above happened for rather than bringing shame and disgust to the whole country and its people. A country which claims to have a culture that dates back to perhaps times immemorial, such incidents can only tarnish our image. Positive thinking is absolutely necessary for our very survival. But at certain times, it becomes a bane rather than a boon to us. Because of our strong belief in the "greater good" principle, we often forget to stand up against certain things, which requires our strong reaction.

There are certain things in life, which are beyond our control. To take up my very own example, my elder brother passed away in an accident seven years ago, which can perhaps be called as my first encounter with the so-called fate. Well, we (my family and myself) didn't have an option rather than to accept the fact and move ahead.

But look around yourself for a while. Numerous incidents have been hushed up and perhaps even ignored, due to our "resilient nature". (Remember the numerous BPO murders, the Noida serial killings and many more). Once the incident disappears from the lime light, we also move ahead with our "very busy" every day life.

We are often taken for granted. I don't have solid statistics to quote in here, on the crime that is happening in our country. I can say for sure without any statistical evidence that the crime rates are shooting up in our country.

Its with much embarrassment I quote one of my friends, who once said "increasing crime rates are part of the development of the nation." What does this reflect? Our growing selfishness or resilience or our strong belief in the "greater good" principle. Have we started taking up the crime rates also as an indicator for national growth, along with GDP and stock market indices? We deliberately try to put aside the fact that it can happen to us tomorrow, or perhaps our near and dear ones.

Think over it guys...

Fate-an escapism???!!

I have always wondered whether the so called fate is a creation of the very own human mind to escape the worst happenings. Well, lets put it this way...speaking from the management perspective(excuse me for that...fault of having been a management student for almost 3+5 yrs...n perhaps for years to come) people are aversive to responsibility.

We all enjoy authority, but we don't like to take up the responsibility for the acts that was caused by our authority. If we can interpret our deeds as "authority", then isn't fate the creation of our mind to escape the responsibility that follows? Isn't it the creation of our very own human mind. We believe that something has happened not because it was our fault, but because it was meant to be. Well, if everything is meant to be...or everything has been written up there in our destiny, why should we put in our efforts towards something? Why don't we just sit up cross legged and let everything happen as per destiny?

There are two kinds of people around us. One who silently suffers in agony and misery blaming it all on "their fate"; and another who dares to change their destiny. Only the second category of people makes it big and the second category lives their life, making no difference to themselves as well as theirs.

Am sure that most of you might have come across Mr. Sharath Babu, an IIM-A graduate, who was in the lime light for quite a long period, for having turned down offers from corporate gaints offering pay package up to $185000 per year, to hire the wizard. Instead he went on to pursue his vision . He comes from a family, who at one point of time, didn't have enough to eat 3 proper meals a day. But today he heads Food King caterers which now employs around 200 employs and has a turnover in crores.

If we look back, Sharath had two options: either to sit back and blame it all on fate and drop his education and dreams or to dare to dream. Well, he chose the second path and bang...!! here he is...one more successful Indian entreprenuer who is soon going to make it to the Forbes. Well, his journey to success was never a cake walk. He did come across obstacles. But every time, he stood up and said to himself "I can do it", instead of blaming it all on one word "fate...!!"

Like Sharath rightly says "It doesn't cost to dream in here".

So guys...stop cribbing over whatever has happened...learn to move ahead....!! Success is just a short while away from you...

What you can look forward to in here.....!!!

Hello visitor....

First of all, let me thank you for finding time to visit my space(err....i prefer to call it so, rather than a blog spot, because this could be my little space, where i could possibly share my weird ideas and thoughts with the larger world) when you could have possibly wandered off to some other sites.

So, to start with, myself Poornima...well...you can call me Poo, Poorni, or even Poornima to be on the formal side. On the Educational front, I am pursuing my MBA 4th semester (finally!!!) and is expected to pass out from the institute hopefully by next September, thanks to the MG University (where exams are never conducted on schedule). I know I am still a stranger to you out there. So to get a clearer picture of me, let me tell a little more about myself (hope am not boring you....pleasee dont navigate away from this page....please...ok..thanks for staying back).

So basically am a simple person with lots of whims and aspirations. Speaking of my aspirations; I aspire to become a successful business woman some day and perhaps a celebrated writer too...well, I do believe that my literary skills are not that bad. I would rather say that my first novel(if at all that can be called so) is in the workshop, which has been entitled as "mystery called life". Well, if everything works out well...who knows I could be the next Indian to be honoured with the Booker Prize after Kiran Desai (mhmhm...sorry for that...I know that sounds little too much).

So..thats all about me. Ok, in spite of the above account, if you still decide to follow my space, then let me tell you of "what you can look forward to in here". Even though blogging on current issues is the say of the day, I always try to do make a difference in whatever I do. So, bringing the "Poo touch" to it, I choose to write about one word, which helps us perhaps move ahead in life, even after being hit with the worst. "Fate" or "destiny". Whatever way we prefer to call it, at the end of the day, we bundle up all those worst happenings in our life and pass on all the blame on to it; something which perhaps is the creation of human mind.

To start with, in my space you can find my personal experiences; how the so called changed fate my life andperhaps, if "fate" permits go on exploring other facets and aspects of it.

Please fell free to leave in your suggestions and comments.
